BETHESDA MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH
In 1866, just one year out of slavery, a group of dedicated black Christians established the Bethesda
Missionary Baptist Church in 1866 in Americus, Georgia. Since that time 5 congrations have been born from
Bethesda, Mount Olive Baptist Church in 1881, Big Bethel Baptist Church in 1885, Friendship Baptist Church in 1895 ,
Union Tabernacle Baptist Church in 1907, and Restoration Church of Americus in 2006.
Bethesda is a full time ministry with Sunday School and Worship Services every Sunday, Bible Study on Wednesdays.
The church ministries include, Deacon and Deaconess, Floral, Missionary, Senior, Music, Ushers and Greeters, Prision, Youth,
Dance, Puppet, and more.
