BOBBIE GREEN ANDREWS
An educator and former teacher at East View Elementary School, Sumter High School and Sumter Middle Schools in Americus, GA , Westside Elementary School in Plains, GA and Preston Elementary School in Preston, GA, Deaconess Bobbie Andrews is the wife of Deacon Williams Andrews who is also an educator and former teacher for the Sumter County Schools.  Mrs. Andrews retired from the Sumter County Schools in 1999, after teaching thirty-two years.  She is currently employed as a Site Coordinator with the Boys and Girls Club of Sumter County.  Mrs. Andrews has served a total of seven years with the Club.  During those years as one of the administrators for the Boys and Girls Club, she has attended many workshops and seminars related to the organizational by-laws and other operational procedures.
Mrs. Andrews received her eduational training in the Sumter County School System.  During her high school years, she was very active in the Science Club and Dramatic Club.  She and some classmates wrote many plays and actually presented them on stage.
Mrs. Andrews has been affiliated with Bethesda Baptist Church for over thirty years as a faithful, loya, committed and resourceful member.  She received her Baptist Training Union (BTU) under the leadership of Rev. R. L. Freeman, the former pastor of Bethesda.  She has served the church as Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher and she is currently the Chairperson of the Deaconess Ministry.
Mrs. Andrews received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Albany State University in Albany, GA and a Masters Degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA.  She also has received additional courses in Library Science from Albany State University and at Georgia State University.
Mrs. Andres is the daughter of Mrs. Bernice Green and the late Mr. David Green, Sr.  She has one daughter, Sherrie, one sister, Dr. Shirley Green Reese and three brothers, Jimmy (Bethesda's Sunday School Bus driver) Johnny and Dr. Gregory Green.  Two brothers, David, Jr. and Raymond are deceased.
